Together WKND 2024

February 2 - February 4

Together WKND is here! We ask that as we head into the weekend, you be in prayer for our students, leaders, host home, and volunteers.

Together WKND 2024 is gearing up and we cannot be more excited. This year, Broadmoor is hosting for the weekend, welcoming multiple churches with students from all around the Madison area. We will meet together the weekend of February 2-4 for worship sessions, breakout sessions, and small groups.

Together WKND began in 2019 when a collection of local youth pastors sought to unite the students of Madison County under the banner of Jesus Christ and the mission that He gives us in Matthew 28:19-20.  Those youth pastors wanted to see the walls of division that students had unintentionally put up be knocked down for the sake of the gospel. Some of those things included school rivalries, socio-economic status, and even what church they attended. The goal of every Together WKND is for students to unite no matter what they look like, how much money they have, what school they attend, or what church they call home – to take the message of Jesus Christ together into Madison County.

Together WKND is essentially a Disciple Now. Students will stay in grade-specific and gender-specific Host Homes with the church they register.  The owners of these homes have gone through a background check and sexual abuse awareness training. There will be two college/young adult aged facilitators that will be their small group leaders throughout the weekend. They will lead students in small group discussions and disciple them throughout the weekend. These Small Group Leaders have completed a background check and gone through sexual abuse awareness training. Collective worship sessions will be held at Broadmoor Baptist Church.

This year, we welcome Brian Crawford as our speaker. Brian is a licensed and ordained Gospel Minister, having served as a youth pastor, associate pastor, and lead pastor before starting City Light Church. Brian and his wife Candi are natives and long-time residents of Vicksburg, having a passion to share the Love and Gospel of Jesus Christ with the city they hold dear. Having felt a burden for Vicksburg for a long period of time, God moved to allow Brian and Candi to move back to the area with the mission to shine the light of Christ in the city through the transformed lives of His people. Brian changed jobs and moved into the heart of the city to begin their journey. Brian and Candi were assessed through the 242 Church Planting Network and were deemed ready for the rigors of church planting. Brian also completed the Multiply church planting training through the network in May 2016. When he isn’t doing the work of the ministry, you probably can find Brian coaching his boys, dating his wife, reading (by the truckload), or watching movies (any genre) & sports (any kind).

We also welcome Port City Worship as our worship band for the weekend. Port City Worship is a collective of singers and musicians from Mobile, AL, who love to worship with the local church. Through songwriting, podcasting, and worship leading, we want to supply encouraging and deepening resources to help students grow in their relationship with Jesus.
