The Launch

Your student’s graduation is drawing near. The Launch is the culmination of Broadmoor’s NextGen milestones.  We are planning a special weekend for graduates and families. During the weekend, there are three things that we want to accomplish: cultivate, commission, and connect.

Saturday, May 4th | 4:30pm | Dress is Business Casual
Cultivate
Graduates and their parents or guardians will gather outside the Venue for a Reception which includes appetizers, a photo booth, and fellowship. At 4:55pm, we will move inside the Venue where each family will go to their designated table. At 5:00pm, we will have a time of family discipleship and celebration. The service will last approximately one hour. After the service, we encourage your family to enjoy a meal together. This could be at a family member’s house, your house, or a restaurant. While there, we feel confident that you will want to continue discussing some of the talking points from the night. While this is only a suggestion, you could also use this time to give your graduate a meaningful gift or invite some significant people from their life to join you in celebration and exhortation.

On or before April 1st, you will receive two packets in the mail.  One packet will be just for you – the parent – with discussion questions that you will be asked to talk about with your student during the family discipleship moment on Saturday.  The other packet will be for your student.  This packet will include discussion questions to help your student be prepared to talk through meaningful moments with you.  For the night to be special, we ask that parents keep their discussion questions to themselves and that students keep theirs to themselves until the service on May 4th.

Sunday, May 5th | 9:00am | Sunday Attire
Commission
On Sunday morning, graduates will arrive at 9:00am outside the Venue to take group pictures. During the 9:30am worship service, we will recognize our seniors through video and in front of our church family. Graduates should feel free to sit with their families, but please sit on the floor of the worship center. During the video, graduates will make their way to the stage. During this time, we want to commission them as they head out to the next mission field, whether college, military, or the workforce. Broadmoor believes it’s essential to charge our students to follow God’s calling and commission in their lives and as a church family, we want to pray for them as they go. At 10:45am, they will attend their last morning of High School Life Groups.

Monday, May 6th | 6:00pm
Connect
As graduates begin to transition to college or their next phase of life, we would do them a dishonor if we did not begin to move them to college ministry. On May 6th, our graduating seniors are invited to join Broadmoor’s College Ministry at their weekly Monday Night Connection. This is a time of fellowship, food, and Bible Study. The location will be revealed close to time.

High School graduates will officially transition to the College Life Group on Sunday, May 12th.

The last day to register AND turn in your senior’s picture is Wednesday, March 20.  No pictures can be submitted after this date.  To register, click HERE. Or you can contact the photographer who took your graduate’s picture and have them download it to the above Dropbox link. The Launch is going to be a fantastic weekend.  We cannot wait to celebrate the class of 2024.  We are looking forward to seeing how God will use our graduates as they join Jesus on His mission for the glory of God and the good of our communities.
