Lottie Moon Christmas Offering & Post Office
The Lottie Moon Christmas Offering is an annual international missions offering collected by Southern Baptists to support international missionaries. This December, Broadmoor Baptist Church is participating in the offering, which is named after Lottie Moon, a Southern Baptist missionary to China who spent nearly 40 years in the country. All gifts go to the International Mission Board (IMB) to fund missionary salaries, supplies, language training, and other expenses, allowing missionaries to focus fully on ministry.
You can give online or in the myBroadmoor app, drop a check designated to Lottie Moon Christmas Offering by the church on Sundays or in the dropbox located on the Faith Hallway during the week, or take part in Broadmoor’s Lottie Moon Christmas Post Office as a fun way to give to the offering while spreading Christmas cheer this season.
Prison Ministry Gift Bags
Broadmoor’s Prison Ministry is collecting items to make Christmas Hygiene Gift Bags for the women incarcerated in the Mississippi Correctional Institute for Women. For many of these ladies, this will be the only free world items they receive all year. We’re collecting clear bottle shampoo, clear case gel deodorant, solid white crew socks, individually wrapped hard candy, and colorful hair ties without metal. You can drop off your donations in the marked bins on Broadmoor’s campus from November 20th through December 10th.
Packing parties will be held on December 14th from 2-4 pm and on December 17th from 6-8 pm in The Hangar.
The White Envelope Project
Beginning November 16th, The White Envelope Project is a special opportunity for kids to learn about generosity, creativity, and serving others. Each child receives a small amount of “starter money” in a white envelope and is challenged to use it in creative ways to grow and multiply the funds, whether by doing chores, hosting a bake sale, creating crafts, or coming up with their own ideas!
At the end of the project on January 4th, every dollar raised is given back to support In His Steps Ministries, one of Broadmoor’s local mission partners, helping meet real needs in our community.
The White Envelope Project helps kids see that God can use their efforts, no matter how small, to make a big difference. It’s a hands-on way for families to talk about stewardship, compassion, and what it means to join Jesus on His mission.
