Pastor Ashley Austin and his family moved to Victoria in 2013 to plant a church in a beautiful, but unreached section of the provincial capitol. Canvas Church has grown to a weekly gathering of approximately 100 people. Many of those who attend do not identify with Christ, and have never attended a church before.
Broadmoor’s role: As a new church plant, Canvas Church would benefit from consistent prayer partners, financial gifts, and tangible supplies such as Bibles, books, sporting equipment, etc. Canvas Church has effectively used direct mail on more than one occasion to promote sports camps and public worship services. There are significant costs with these kinds of efforts and sponsorship for some, or all, of an outreach is appreciated. In addition, the Austin family would enjoy receiving notes of encouragement from those who are praying for their ministry in Victoria. Broadmoor has sent two teams to Canvas Church in the summers of 2016 and 2017 to lead sports camps and build relationships with families in the community. Broadmoor will host various trips throughout the year to the Canvas Church.
