DESCRIPTION:The Move is our Middle School Milestone event for 8th graders moving up to 9th grade. We spend the afternoon together fellowshipping and swimming at Joe and DeAnne Hegi’s house. We return to the church where our 8th graders get to hear from a panel of high school students and they get to ask them questions about high school and how to stay strong in their faith in a new school environment. Meanwhile\, our High School staff gets to meet with the parents and give them a preview of what high school ministry looks like at Broadmoor. DESCRIPTION:Members of Broadmoor who are interested in partnering with Mississippi Baptist Disaster Relief (MBDR) to help others after a disaster strikes must be trained and credentialed through MBDR. Training sessions will be conducted on Friday\, July 19 and Saturday\, July 20. The cost for each participant is $25\, which includes lunch and a background check. We will help your child answer questions like\, “what is a Christian”\, “what does it mean to follow Jesus”\, and “what do I do as a Christian.” We will also give parents some tools to use as you continue to disciple your children along the way. This class will also help you be prepared for a follow up meeting with a minister on Broadmoor’s staff. If your child has made a decision or is interested in being baptized this is your next step!!
