DESCRIPTION:Men\, join us for an evening with Coach Tommy Bowden! Dads\, bring your sons. Grandfathers\, bring your grandsons. It will be a fun evening that begins at 6:00 with hamburgers\, hot dogs and all the fixings. It will be a great night of fellowship with other men in our church and community and a challenging word from Coach Bowden. The event is free but let us know you’re coming by registering HERE. \nTommy has dedicated his life to making a difference in others’ lives. After spending several years as an assistant football coach at Florida State\, Duke\, Alabama\, Kentucky\, and Auburn Universities\, Tommy Bowden became the head coach at Tulane University in 1997. In just his second season with Tulane\, he led his team to an undefeated season\, a Conference USA Championship and a win in the Liberty Bowl. Tommy was also named Conference USA Coach of the year. \nIn 1999\, Tommy took the head coaching position at Clemson University. In that first season\, the Tigers set or tied 41 school records\, including 26 on offense.\nHe was named Conference Coach of the Year in 1998\, and ACC Coach of the year in both 1999 and 2003. Over the last four games of the 2003 season\, Bowden defeated two coaches that had already earned 200 career wins – to become the first coach in NCAA history to accomplish the feat in just a month’s time. (Those coaches were his father\, the legendary Bobby Bowden\, and Lou Holtz). \nThroughout his tenure at Clemson University\, his teams were not only among the elite in the nation on the field\, but also in the classroom. Nearly 80% of all seniors earned their degrees during Tommy’s 10-year career at Clemson. In 2005\, Clemson’s 94% graduation success rate was fourth-best of all 119 Division IA football programs. Each of the top-eight semester team Grade Point Averages in Clemson history were recorded under Bowden. \nIn 2006\, Tommy received the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Coach of the Year Award. \nSince retiring from Clemson in 2008\, Tommy Bowden has become one of the nation’s most sought after motivational speakers. He has appeared as an expert college football analyst on ESPN television and radio\, as well as\, co-hosted two football television shows\, one with FOX Sports and one with the ACC Football Network. He is the author of the book “Winning Character” and married his high school sweetheart\, the former Linda White. They have been married for over 40 years\, have two children; Ryan and Lauren and 4 grandsons. \n

Offenders who meet the criteria can invite their families to join. This includes parents\, siblings\, children\, etc. Various churches from the metro area are assisting. These churches are the local partners with the churches planted in the prison. DESCRIPTION:We can’t wait to see you for Community Fest 2023 at Liberty Park and Crawford Farms Blvd. This is a fun day for all ages\, and this year\, Community Fest includes three great events in one exciting day. All of this is free\, and all are welcome to attend and participate in the festivities! \nSCHEDULE\n9:30am • Worship at the main stage. Be sure to arrive early and grab a good seat!\n11:00am • Family meal for everyone. Reserve your meals for your household by texting LUNCH to 32373.\n2:00pmm until 6:00pm • Festival for all ages complete with food\, music\, games\, and good times! \nWHAT TO EXPECT AT COMMUNITY FEST\nThe festival will be from 2-6pm with live entertainment\, games\, and lots of fun. We will have an awesome lineup of food trucks on site: Barbeque SHINE\, T&J Concessions\, Neerly Southern\, Chunky Dunks\, Lost Pizza\, Kona Ice\, and Rolling Beans. So bring your appetite! We also have some great singers and bands set up to perform throughout the day. Come out to the main stage to see TB Ledford and the Accumulators\, The Lonely Hearts\, Chalmers Davis\, Dan Joyner\, and the Germantown High School Choral Group. \nPARKING\nThere are three locations for parking. For those who require special assistance\, we recommend parking in Liberty Park by entering through the gate at Grandview Blvd across from Walmart. There will also be lots open at Hobby Lobby and Rosa Scott School\, accessible off of the north entrance of Crawford Farms Blvd. via Main Street. There will be shuttles running from all three parking lots throughout the day to get you quickly to all the activities! \nWILL THERE BE A PLACE TO SIT?\nFor worship\, there will be chairs set up around the main stage\, but we encourage you to bring your lawn chairs and find a comfortable location near the stage. These chairs will also serve as seating for lunch. Throughout the day\, you can rest your feet at several picnic tables and benches throughout the park. \nINCLEMENT WEATHER PLAN\nIn the event of inclement weather\, a decision about the events will be made by 6:00am on Sunday\, September 24. Those changes will be communicated here and on Broadmoor’s social media channels\, email\, and text services. \nHOW CAN BROADMOOR’S LIFE GROUPS GET INVOLVED?\nBroadmoor’s Life Groups play an important part in Community Fest. Talk with your Life Group leadership about volunteering as a group and gathering together for lunch “tailgate” style. If your Life Group wants to bring a tent to setup\, please do so on Saturday\, September 23\, from 1:30pm to 5:30pm at Liberty Park by the baseball and soccer fields on the south side of the park. \nWHAT DO I DO IF I ALREADY SIGNED UP TO VOLUNTEER OR IF I WANT TO VOLUNTEER?\nIf you have signed up to volunteer already\, simply visit the volunteer tent on Sunday at least 10 minutes prior to your service time dressed in your Community Fest shirt to check in and pick up your lanyard and any last-minute instructions. When you have completed your time to serve\, check out and return your lanyard at the volunteer tent. \nIf you haven’t signed up to volunteer and want to do so\, sign up to take a time slot to serve for the good of our community! If you have already signed up to serve through your Life Group\, you don’t need to sign up here unless you want to serve twice.
