DESCRIPTION:Encounter is our joint Middle School and High School ministry event. Encounter is all about bringing our 6th through 12th grade students together\, with an emphasis on inviting their lost friends to come to hear a clear presentation of the Gospel message so that they may have an encounter with Jesus. Our theme for Encounter in August is Tailgating. Football season is back\, great food\, everyone loves a good tailgate! We want this first Encounter to capitalize on the wave of momentum of school starting back\, football being back and a big turnout for our first Encounter.\n\nIt will be on August 27th from 6:15 to 7:30 starting in the ROC. We will have burgers\, drinks\, tailgate games and more! We will follow up by moving upstairs for a time of worship and a lesson\, geared towards presenting the gospel. Our prayer and desire is that students would always treat Encounter as an opportunity to invite someone to come along with them to church! We have seen lives changed and great conversations happen through nights of Encounter.

This weekend will mark the culmination of Broadmoor’s NextGen milestones\, providing a meaningful experience for both students and parents. \nWe invite you and your graduate to join us from Saturday\, May 3\, through Monday\, May 5\, for a series of events that will honor their achievements and prepare them for their next chapter. \nSaturday\, May 3 | 4:30PM | Cultivate\nGraduates and their parents will gather outside the Venue for a light reception followed by a time of discipleship and equipping as we: \n\nProvide a space for parents and students to reflect on the past and discuss the future.\nCelebrate each graduate’s accomplishments.\nEmphasize the importance of community.\nIntroduce families to Broadmoor’s College Ministry.\n\nOur time together will conclude at 6:00 PM\, and we encourage you to continue the conversation over dinner at a location of your choice. This could be at home\, a family member’s house\, or a restaurant. You may also use this time to present your student with a meaningful gift or invite significant people in their life to join in celebrating them. \nAfter Spring Break\, you will receive two packets in the mail: \n\nOne for parents—containing discussion questions to be shared with your student during the event.\nOne for students—designed to help them reflect on key moments to discuss with you.\n\nTo ensure a meaningful experience\, we ask that both parents and students keep their discussion questions private until the event on May 3. \nSunday\, May 4 | 9:00AM | Commission\nGraduates will gather for a group picture before being recognized during our 9:30AM worship service. As a church family\, we will commission and pray over them as they prepare for their next steps. \nAt 10:45AM\, we will host a special breakfast for our graduates as they have one last morning in their Life Group. \nMonday\, May 5 | 6:00 PM | Connect\nAs our graduates’ transition into college or their next phase of life\, we want to welcome them into Broadmoor’s College Ministry. DESCRIPTION:WHO: High School upperclassmen (Juniors and Seniors) and adult volunteers.\n\nWHAT: Broadmoor partners with Encounter Church\, a growing group of friends and neighbors from Westwood\, Dedham\, and surrounding communities who have two things in common: a love for God and a passion to serve their community. Led by Pastor Chris Causey\, Encounter Church exists to be a catalyst for encounters with Christ that lead to life change. Team members will have rental vehicles with designated adult drivers to get to and from the church. The team may also get passes for public transit to travel throughout the city to nearby places. SUMMARY:Together Weekend 2025
DESCRIPTION:Together WKND began in 2019 when a collection of local youth pastors sought to unite the students of Madison County under the banner of Jesus Christ and the mission that He gives us in Matthew 28:19-20. Those youth pastors wanted to see the walls of division that students had unintentionally put up be knocked down for the sake of the gospel. Some of those things included school rivalries\, socio-economic status\, and even what church they attended. The goal of every Together WKND is for students to unite no matter what they look like\, how much money they have\, what school they attend\, or what church they call home – to take the message of Jesus Christ together into Madison County. \nTogether WKND is essentially a Disciple Now for grades 6 – 12. Students will stay in grade-specific and gender-specific Host Homes with the church they register. The owners of these homes have gone through a background check and sexual abuse awareness training. There will be two college/young adult aged facilitators that will be their small group leaders throughout the weekend. They will lead students in small group discussions and disciple them throughout the weekend. These Small Group Leaders have completed a background check and gone through sexual abuse awareness training.
