ROB FUTRAL
PASTOR
RFUTRAL@BROADMOOR.ORG
My story is shaped by two major factors, my faith and my family. I
accepted Jesus Christ as Savior at 12 years of age and began learning
about all that it means to follow Him as the Lord of my life. At 15 I
surrendered my life to ministry. Today that seems like a young age to
make such an important decision but God has confirmed his calling in my
life time after time. I am still overwhelmed that God would love me
enough to send His Son for me and that I have the privilege to serve
Him in His church.
My family is a huge part of my life. I was blessed to grow up in a
home with parents who love the Lord and two super sisters. My dad (a
pastor for many years and now the Executive Director/Treasurer of the
Mississippi Baptist Convention) and mom continue to have a profound
impact on my life. They continue to model what it means to be a fully
devoted follower of Jesus Christ.
Life in a pastor’s family meant that there were several times when
our family had a new ministry assignment in a new place that required a
move. While this was tough at times, I am thankful now to have
experienced living in a number of settings from small towns to
metropolitan areas. During most of my life we were in Mississippi, but
I also enjoyed living for a short time in Fort Worth, Texas. When I was
fifteen years old we moved to Jackson where my dad began serving as the
pastor at Broadmoor. I could have never imagined how that move would
shape my life.
My wife, Kimandria, and I met at Broadmoor in high school and
married right after college. She is, without a doubt, the greatest
blessing in my life. In addition to being a godly woman, she is an
incredible wife and a great mom. Our three kids are the joy of our
lives--most of the time!?
We have been blessed to serve in several local churches. Each place
represents so many great people who have taught us so much about loving
God and living for Him. We have been at Broadmoor since September 2003
and it has been an unbelievable experience! We never could have
imagined that God would bring us back to our “home church,” but we are
thankful that He did.
We have a deep passion for the work that God does through His people
in the local church to make a global impact! We hope that the story of
our lives and our church is that we are passionately pursuing God’s
vision for our lives by committing our lives to Jesus Christ and our
lifestyles to His great commandments and His great commission!
