PAM BURDETTE

PRESCHOOL MINISTER

PBURDETTE@BROADMOOR.ORG

I grew up in the home of a pastor where God and church were at the center of everything we did.  My parents were the best role models I had of how a Christian lives their life everyday.  At age nine, I knew I was a sinner and that I wanted Jesus to forgive me.  I knew that Jesus is God’s Son and that He died on the Cross.  I was a believer.

Not long after being married, my husband, Henry and I were attending church regularly and involved in the youth ministry.  One day the pastor said something in a sermon that stirred up some questions about my spiritual life.  What did I really believe?  Was I believer because I grew up with people who believed or did I really believe who Jesus is and how much did I really know God?”

Shortly after that sermon I began to discuss my questions with Henry.  We opened up to some other couples that we attended church with.  They began to share their questions also.  We began to meet once a week and study the Bible.  As a child I believed that Jesus was God’s Son and that He died on the cross.  During that time, Henry and I began to pray and seek God in a personal way. I understood that I had never taken my life to the next level with God.  Henry and I continue to learn more about God’s plan for our lives and allow Him to teach us as we go.

I have been married to Henry Burdette for 40 years.  We have 2 children, Heather Burdette and Bradly Burdette.

I had never really planned on serving God through a church staff but the opportunity presented itself in twenty seven years ago at North Tremholm Baptist Church in Columbia, SC where I served as Preschool & Children’s Minister until 1997.  Henry’s job took us to Durham that year where God called me to serve at Summit Church until the end of 1999.

Henry’s job again brought us to Madison, MS and I began serving Broadmoor as Preschool Minister in January 2000.  It has been a privilege and blessing to be part of such a great church and to watch how God has used Broadmoor to make a difference in the Kingdom here and all over the world.

One of my life verses from God’s Word is: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.  This is the first and greatest commandment.  And the second is like it;  Love your neighbor as yourself.”  Matthew 22:37-39
