TATE COCKRELL

Dr. Tate Cockrell was raised in Laurel, Mississippi and graduated from William Carey University in Hattiesburg, Mississippi with a bachelor of Science in Psychology. He went to Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas where he earned an M.A. in Religious Education and an M.A. in Marriage and Family Therapy as well as a Ph. D. in Psychology and Counseling.
Before coming to Broadmoor, Dr. Cockrell served as Director of Ministries for Dawson McAllister Association, a national youth ministry. While there he co-hosted Dawson McAllister Live a nationally syndicated live radio program reaching 500,000 people each week. He still serves on the Board of Directors for the HopeLine, a subsidiary of Dawson McAllister Association.
Recently, he was Assistant Professor of Psychology and Counseling at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary for Four years where he continues to teach classes on a regular basis.
He travels throughout the United States speaking and preaching in conferences and churches on marriage and family issues. He loves reading science fiction, playing golf, hunting and traveling with his family. He is married to Wendy Posey of Ellisville, Mississippi. They have one daughter, Tatum, and twin sons, Preston and Spencer.

CLIFF HARDIN
CARE AND SENIOR ADULT PASTOR

Cliff Hardin was raised in Leakesville, Mississippi and graduated from Mississippi College in Clinton, Mississippi with a Bachelor of Arts with a major in Christian Studies and a minor in Psychology. Cliff completed one unit of Clinical Pastoral Education at Mississippi Baptist Health Systems followed by four units of Clinical Pastoral Education at the Sonny Montgomery VA Hospital which included experience at the University of Mississippi Medical Center and The State Hospital at Whitfield. He has also earned a master of Divinity with an emphasis in Psychology and Counseling at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.
He currently serves as a staff counselor at Broadmoor Baptist Church. There he performs marital, family, and individual therapy encompassing many issues including depression, anxiety, self esteem and relational issues and provides spiritual counsel. He also serves as the Triage Counselor. Cliff serves as Staff Chaplain at Mississippi Baptist Health Systems where he provides spiritual counsel and crisis intervention to staff and patients. He is also an adjunct professor for the Clinical Pastoral Education program at Mississippi Baptist Health Systems.
Before coming to Broadmoor, Cliff served at Parkview Baptist Church in Metairie, Louisiana as the Senior Adult Minister where he supplied counseling to homebound and nursing home members as well as individual and marital therapy including depression and conflict resolution. He also served as Pastoral Care Pastor at First Baptist Church of Jackson, Mississippi, where he provided pastoral counsel, visited hospitals and nursing homes, and performed weddings and funerals.
Cliff enjoys woodworking, hunting, fishing, and traveling with his wife. He is married to Diana Thornton of Brandon, Mississippi. Cliff and Diana have a little girl named Alex.

JOHN DAMON
STAFF COUNSELOR
John Damon has a wealth of knowledge, experience, and passion. Born in Brookhaven, MS, John attended Mississippi College, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. He later attended Reformed Theological Seminary where he earned a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy. In 2003, John earned a Doctor of Philosophy degree in clinical psychology from Jackson State University.
John currently serves as chief operating officer at Mississippi Children’s Home Services. In his role at MCHS, John is responsible for all administrative and programmatic operations, including the management of an $11.5 annual budget. He is also co-owner of Colony Crossing Management (d/b/a Pizza Inn) located in Madison, MS. John is also part of the adjunct faculty of Reformed Theological Seminary where he has the opportunity to teach several courses each year. His previous experience includes being a center director, interim center director, clinical therapist, and clinical supervisor for various treatment care centers in Mississippi.
A gifted communicator, John has conducted dozens of professional presentations in Mississippi, as well as throughout the United States. He has been a young adult Sunday School teacher for several years, including teaching his current young married adult class at Broadmoor Baptist Church.
John and his wife Helaina have five children: Darby, David, Dean, Demi, and Drew. They reside in Madison and are members of Broadmoor Baptist Church.

MARCIA GRIFFIN HALE, MMAFC
STAFF COUNSELOR
Marcia Griffin Hale, MMAFC, was raised in Monticello, Florida. She is the middle child. She graduated from The Florida State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Child Development Family Relations with and a minor in vocal performance music. She attended New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in New Orleans, Louisiana where she earned a master’ in Marriage and Family Counseling. While at the seminary she took classes under Broadmoor Family Pastor Dr. Tate Cockrell.
She is a life-long Southern Baptist, and grew up a member of First Baptist Church in Monticello, Florida where her mother served as Chair of the Finance Committee and her father is a Deacon. Marcia taught Sunday School and worked in Vacation Bible School beginning in high school.
Marcia is currently employed as a Children’s Day Treatment Specialist with Warren-Yazoo Mental Health Center in the Yazoo City office. In this position she teaches and counsels special needs children and children with DSM-IV-TR mental health diagnoses in a classroom setting. Her other post-graduate work has also been working with children and families with various diagnoses.
She is married to Dr. Ray Hale, a psychologist with the Mississippi Department of Rehabilitation, Office of Vocational Rehabilitation. Ray was raised in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
She enjoys traveling with her family, sightseeing, music, college football, and family cats, Man and Puff. She is stepmother to Cameron and David.

CHARLOTTE YOUNT, LPC
STAFF COUNSELOR
Charlotte was born and grew up in Jackson, Mississippi. Her family attended Calvary Baptist Church. She graduated from Hinds Jr. College and returned later to complete her undergraduate degree in Social and Rehabilitation services at USM in Hattiesburg. Charlotte received her Masters of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Mississippi College in May 2001. Charlotte has done both individual and group counseling at St. Dominic Behavioral Health, Region 8 Mental Health Center, Summit Counseling of First Baptist Church of Jackson, and Psycamore Partial Psychiatric Hospital. She is currently employed full time with the Tobacco Quitline as a smoking cessation counselor and as a part time contract therapist with Broadmoor. Charlotte has worked with a broad spectrum of issues in counseling and mental health. She has worked with youth in her former churches chaperoning many youth events and mission trips. Also, she has continuing education in bipolar disorder, addiction and sexual abuse issues, dealing with homosexuality issues, and has attended numerous Christian women’s conferences dealing with women’s issues.
Charlotte has two grown children. She enjoys spending time with close friends, traveling, reading and listening to Christian contemporary music and radio.
